IB EXPENSES and GROSS MISMANAGEMENT DESTROY
SAGINAW MICHIGAN SCHOOLS!
May 11th, 2013 - Vaguely in the background on the TV, I heard mention of a school district in Michigan which fired all of its teachers and shut the schoolhouse doors to the children, a full 6 weeks before the last day of school. I didn't think much of it other than, "Well, that sucks", until this morning when I looked up how many IB programmes there were in Saginaw. Saginaw was IB infested, K-12, with one PYP, two MYP and one DP.
Let Saginaw serve as a dire warning of what WILL happen if Superintendents are allowed to force IB upon your public schools. What will follow is nothing but corruption and destruction. Look at the IB authorization dates on these schools, the OLDEST was 2006 and one was authorized as recently as 2012! So that means IB spending in Saginaw started as early as 2004. Ten years. Ten years starting out spending $200,000 a year and working it's way all the way up to $750-800,000 a year. By my calculations, that means Saginaw has collectively spent approx. seven (7) million....$7,000,000....... on IB to date!!! Do you think $7M could have kept the school doors open until the official last day of school? I do.
TAIB is pleased to feature an e-mail received on February 18, 2013. It is written by a 17 year old Cambridge student from New Zealand. TAIB deeply appreciates the time and effort this student put into his correspondence. Simon's previous correspondence to TAIB can be read HERE
January 9, 2013 - Next month, a group called Scenarios U.S.A. will be presenting a 2.5 day workshop for International Baccalaureate in NYC. It will be led by an IB Diploma graduate who has also taught the IB MYP. After reviewing Scenarios' website and You Tube previews of several of the "films" it makes available for sale, every topic is social-emotional. Academics are completely absent from this group's attempts at interacting with and influencing of, today's youth. Oh sure, they show school buildings, but the essence of what should be going on within the walls of those buildings is never addressed. Yet here is what Scenarios on its 'What We Do' page claims:
We believe that by valuing youth and their stories, we strengthen academic achievement, promote civic engagement and support young people in becoming engaged citizens and healthy individuals.
So that's what Scenarios "believes", and apparently IBO as well since this workshop is specifically for IB. But where is the proof that IB actually strengthens academic achievement? Questioning the very existence of this organization must mean you are racist, homophobic and a new term .... trans-phobic.
TAIB sure hopes none of its taxdollars are paying for any NY IB teachers to attend this "workshop". What an unbelievable waste of time and money.
Please enjoy one of my favorites from the featured Scenarios' film clips called Misunderstood. (be sure to catch Obama's face on the TV when the drunk black Dad wakes up on the couch). It makes TAIB wonder if this group is in any way associated with the anxiously awaited show about rapper Shawty Lo and his 10 Baby Mamas. IB appears to be the "educational" cousin to this Oxygen Network's brainchild. Outraged comments may be e-mailed to TAIB at info@truthaboutib.com and the best ones will be published.
WHY IS WAPO PROMOTING IB FOR BLACKS?
January 4, 2013 - TAIB understands the white guilt of the Progressive movement to want to "close the achievement gap" in education between poor minorities and middle class suburban whites. Progressives like Jay Mathews of The Washington Post, believe that forcing students into his pet IB program will afford them untold opportunities and magic powers, to boot. However, when WAPO takes what theoretically started out as an "educational reform for all" and twists it into forced segregation and enslavement of African-American students in a specific, expensive, foreign program like IB, all semblence of reason and fairness flies out the window. In fact, the suggestion promoted by Jay Mathews in the article below, in TAIB's opinion, represents pure evil and should be widely condemned.
TAIB was pleasantly surprised to see a rebuttal to this article in a new publication called The Root, a sister-site to WAPO with an African-American perspective:
As one TAIB reader noted, "What happened to diversity?" Is this not hypocrisy of the nth degree when compared to IBO's Mission Statement? It becomes clearer and clearer with each passing year, that IBO's primary goal is to abscond with as many U.S. taxdollars as possible, by targeting poor minorities. IB has nothing to do with excellent academics. IB is nothing but social engineering and WAPO is as guilty when it comes to its disgusting promotion of this socialist/UNESCO "tool" against American youth, be they black, white or purple. Our students should not be used as Swiss Guinea Pigs. Enough is enough!
